For some reason this SCSI drive goes very slow
Here's a scsi drive I picked up off ebay.
It's a Hitachi DK32DJ-72
It's a replacement drive that came in a hot-swap caddy for some high-end Sony transcoding unit.
I connected it to my computer via BOTH an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card and an Adaptec 19160 (not pictured).
It's connected with some kind of SCSI Adapter and SCSI cable I picked up from a local computer shop.
The cable has the markings 2D502 BIZ 10 oCT 01 on it. The 2D502 correlates with a Dell product number.
The SCSI cable has a built in terminator on the end.
Currently, I'm getting strangly low speeds with HD Tach.
Any and all help on this issue is appreciated!

UPDATE:
One person suggested this drive may have some tweaks to increase RAID performance, but degrade single-drive performance.
This dea sounds very reasonably to me. Hitachi had some utilities on their website, but I was never able to get them to work.
